Dear Parents and Carers

Well we now once again come to the end of another busy school year. I think we thought and hoped that this school year was going to be a return to a greater sense of normality but it certainly has not worked out that way!

However with the continuous support you have given our school throughout the past 12 months we have had a very a good year. We have adapted and flexed to meet the challenges that the national pandemic have thrown at us all with positivity and a ‘can do’ approach! We truly value the great partnership we have with you all.

Fond Farewell Year 6

We say a fond farewell to all our year 6 pupils who leave us to start the next stage of their school journey in senior school. They take will them lots of happy memories. We wish them great success and happiness. It has been a sheer delight having each and every one of the children as members of our school family. We are delighted we have been able to give the children some lovely celebrations, gifts and certificates to mark the end of their primary education. What superstars they all are!

Fond Farewell to staff

At the end of this school year we will be saying some fond farewells to several members of staff.

Retirement
Mrs Ponzini

Mrs Alison Ponzini has worked as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at our school for 22 years. Again a significant amount of time in which she has supported the learning of many, many children across the two decades. She has also been a lead member of our school PTA – organising the Summer Fairs and Christmas Family Social events in the Irish Club, Her dedication to the school and our community has been simply awesome –what a superstar member of staff she has been.

Whilst we are always sad to say goodbye to such wonderful members of staff we are privileged to have known and worked with such great colleagues.

Mrs Gallimore

Mrs Anita Gallimore has worked at the school as a finance officer in the school office for 17 years. This is a significant amount of time in which she has supported the finance and office part of the school. Her warm and friendly welcome at the school reception on the telephone has been enjoyed and appreciated by all visitors, parents and members of our school community.  Mrs Gallimore has supported many colleagues both professionally and personally.

We wish Mrs Gallimore and Mrs Ponzini a very happy and healthy retirement.

Also a fond goodbye to

Mr Matt Nice (Year 1 teacher and Assistant Head) Mr Nice joined the school six years ago and has taught across the juniors and infants. Mr Nice has successfully secured a Deputy Headship post in another school. A huge congratulations to Mr Nice! A great promotion and well deserved. I know all the children he has taught have thoroughly enjoyed being in his class. Good Luck with the new job!

Mrs Lorraine Smallwood (Learning Support Assistant -LSA). Mrs Smallwood has been an LSA at our school for seven years supporting many children across the infants with their learning. All the teachers who have been fortunate enough to have her as their class LSA cannot speak more highly of her. She is full of initiative, drive and commitment for the work she does with the children –and always does everything to an outstanding standard. We wish her well for the future.

We have several new members of staff joining us in September. I will introduce these colleagues to you in the new term.

A big thank you and ‘Well done’ to staff

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our brilliant staff for their dedication and hard work this school year. We are truly blessed with a wonderful staff team who are committed to ensuring every child has the best school experiences.

On behalf all of the staff and governors can I wish you all a lovely and hopefully sunny summer holiday.

We look forward to seeing all the children, in full uniform, on Thursday 2nd September as we begin our new school year.

Keep safe and well.
